Jewel Case Inserts

Jewel case inserts are the printed paper inserts that insert inside the hard plastic cases that a lot of CDs come packaged. Whether you are doing CD duplication or CD replication the same descriptions apply.

There are two pieces of paper that get printed – the FRONT insert which can range from a square piece of paper to a multiple age booklet. Then there is the BACK or TRAYCARD that is always the same, it fits under the plastic tray and is folded in a way so that it forms the spines.

The front insert is typically described by the number of panels – see if this makes sense below -

2-panel (one panel each side of the paper) is a single square piece of paper – no fold

4-panel (two panels each side of the paper) is a single piece of paper with a single fold

6-panel (three panels each side of the paper) is a singe piece of paper with 2 folds and folded like a tri-fold wallet

8-panel (four panels each side of the paper) is an even larger single piece of paper, folded in hald and then folded again down to a square

then comes the booklets which are basically a set of 4-panels,nested one inside the other and stapled down the fold.

The smallest booklet is an 8 page booklet – two 4-panels together and stapled.

12 page booklet – three 4-panels together and stapled.

16 page booklet – four 4-panels together and stapled.
